- Cut stems at an angle – with a knife, not scissors. Scissors crush the vascular channels; a knife keeps them open. Best done directly under running water.
- Add flower food to the water. It is included with every FloraPrima bouquet and measurably extends the vase life.
- Keep away from fruit, radiators and draughts. Ripening fruit releases ethylene – a gas that causes flowers to wilt faster. Radiator heat dries out the blooms.
- Change the water every two days and trim the stems again each time. This prevents bacterial growth – the most common cause of premature wilting.
